This class focuses on building a competent, confident, and aggressive search culture to improve civilian rescue outcomes. With most fire fatalities occurring in residential structures, a strong search mindset is one of the most critical responsibilities on the fireground.

Search Mindset: Why we search and who we’re there for.
Search Techniques: Body positioning, tool selection, and effective use of TICs.
Search Patterns: Oriented, split, and combination methods.
Communication: Clear, simple, and industry-standard methods.
Victim Removal: Drags, body positioning, and efficient movement.
Vent-Enter-Search: How, why, and when to perform VES.
