Spouse Track (HOT)

Date: July 17 and 18 (2-Day Class)
Class Time: 0800-1400
Location: Aurora Regional Fire Museum (53 N Broadway Ave. Aurora, IL 60505)
PPE: Change of clothes, non-important shoes, and dry socks
Day 1 - Training Session:
- Female firefighter instructors will lead morning hands-on training, and include skills: - Forcing a door 
- Packing up gear and completing a maze with a blurred face piece 
- Flowing water from hoses and learning water push techniques 
 
- Participation is optional and for fun—no pressure. 
- Participants will be crawling and possibly getting wet, so wear non-important shoes and bring a change of clothes. We will provide bunker gear, gloves, and eye protection. 
- After the morning training, there will be lunch and a presentation. 
- After lunch, spouses can socialize, walk nearby for drinks, or head to their hotels to change for the evening social. 
Day 2 – The Grand Tour:
- Spouses will meet at (TBA) to begin a HOT site tour throughout the city. 
- Spouses may get the opportunity to participate in activities at some stations, especially if your spouse is in a class. Some classes will be spectate only. 
- Lunch will be provided wherever the tour is located at lunch time. 
- After lunch, spouses can continue socializing or doing their own thing. We hope to see you at the final evening social event! 
Overall Vibe:
- This is a laid-back, fun event for fire spouses to meet and connect. There’s no pressure and the goal is just to have a good time. 
- It’s a chance to meet like-minded people, make new friends, and enjoy a few days of fun and camaraderie.
